Refund Policy

Last Updated: June 27, 2026

1. Overview

This Refund Policy explains when and how you can get a refund for a paid WordSec plan. WordSec's free plan involves no charge, so it is not covered here. Paid plans are sold through Paddle, which acts as our Merchant of Record and processes all payments, taxes, and refunds on our behalf. This policy applies alongside our Terms of Service and your statutory consumer rights.

2. 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

We want you to be confident in WordSec. If a paid plan does not meet your needs, you can request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase, no questions asked.

  • The guarantee applies to the first purchase of each paid plan.
  • You receive a full refund of the amount you paid for that purchase.
  • Your paid license is deactivated once the refund is issued.

3. How to Request a Refund

Requesting a refund is simple. You can reach us directly or use Paddle, the merchant that processed your order:

  • Email support@wordsec.net from the address used at checkout, and include your license key or order number.
  • Or open the receipt email Paddle sent you after purchase, which links to their buyer portal.
  • We aim to respond to every refund request within 2 business days.

4. Subscription Renewals

Paid plans are subscriptions that renew automatically so your protection never lapses. To avoid a renewal charge, cancel before your renewal date. If a renewal still catches you by surprise, contact us within 14 days of the charge and we will review a refund on a case-by-case basis.

5. Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Paddle buyer portal or by contacting us. After cancellation, your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and it does not renew again. Cancelling on its own does not trigger a refund for the current period; request one separately if you are within an eligible window.

6. When a Refund May Not Apply

In a few situations we may decline a refund, to the extent permitted by law:

  • Requests made more than 14 days after the initial purchase, outside the cases described above.
  • Renewal payments where the request falls outside the 14-day review window.
  • Licenses terminated for abuse, fraud, or violation of our Terms of Service.
  • Repeated refund requests that indicate misuse of this guarantee.

7. How Refunds Are Processed

Approved refunds are issued by Paddle to your original payment method. Most refunds appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank or card provider. Any taxes that Paddle collected are refunded together with the purchase amount.

8. Your Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy limits the mandatory rights you may have under consumer-protection law, such as the right of withdrawal in the European Union and the United Kingdom. Where those rights give you more than this policy, they apply in full and in addition to the guarantee described above.
