Vulnerability Overview

The XML-RPC implementation (xmlrpc.php) in WordPress before 2.3.3, when registration is enabled, allows remote attackers to edit posts of other blog users via unknown vectors.

REMEDIATION: Update to version 2.3.3, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-639 (Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key) The system's authorization functionality does not prevent one user from gaining access to another user's data or record by modifying the key value identifying the data.
