Vulnerability Overview

The Slimstat Analytics plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via REQUEST_URI in versions up to, and including, 4.9.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping when logging visitor requests. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever an administratoruser views those logs.

REMEDIATION: Update to version 4.9.3, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')) The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users.
