Vulnerability Overview

The WP Photo Album Plus plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Insecure Direct Object Reference in all versions up to, and including, 8.5.02.005 due to missing validation on a user controlled key. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attacker to perform an unauthorized action base don a user controlled key.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 8.6.01.005, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-639 (Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key) The system's authorization functionality does not prevent one user from gaining access to another user's data or record by modifying the key value identifying the data.
