Vulnerability Overview

In the default configuration of the File Manager WordPress plugin before 7.1, a Reflected XSS can occur on the endpoint /wp-admin/admin.php?page=wp_file_manager_properties when a payload is submitted on the User-Agent parameter. The payload is then reflected back on the web application response.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 7.1, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')) The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users.
