Vulnerability Overview
mndpsingh287 WP File Manager v6.4 and lower fails to restrict external access to the fm_backups directory with a .htaccess file. This results in the ability for unauthenticated users to browse and download any site backups, which sometimes include full database backups, that the plugin has taken.

CWE-552: Files or Directories Accessible to External Parties
The product makes files or directories accessible to unauthorized actors, even though they should not be.
Remediation
Update to version 6.5, or a newer patched version
How does WordSec protect against this?
Requests carrying this pattern arrive without a session, so nothing upstream of the firewall gets a chance to reject them: WordSec's web application firewall inspects request payloads before WordPress loads them. None of that substitutes for the fix: File Manager 6.5 closes this, and updating the plugin is the step that ends it.
