Welcart e-Commerce <= 2.9.4 - Cross-Site Request Forgery
Strategic Overview
Vulnerability Overview
The Welcart e-Commerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 2.9.4. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on several functions. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to upload files via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link. Since uploaded files were not verified properly, this could lead to arbitrary file upload.
Technical Analysis
REMEDIATION: Update to version 2.9.5, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-352 (Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)) The web application does not, or cannot, sufficiently verify whether a request was intentionally provided by the user who sent the request, which could have originated from an unauthorized actor.
