Vulnerability Overview

The Solace Extra plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file uploads due to missing file type validation in the download_and_update_logo_logo_from_live_url() function in all versions up to, and including, 1.3.0. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to upload arbitrary files on the affected site's server which may make remote code execution possible.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 1.3.1, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-434 (Unrestricted Upload of File with Dangerous Type) The product allows the upload or transfer of dangerous file types that are automatically processed within its environment.
