Vulnerability Overview

The Restaurant & Cafe Addon for Elementor plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized modification of data due to missing capability checks on the rcafe_bw_settings_save_func(), rctl_bw_toggle_submit_func(), rcafe_uw_settings_save_func(), and rctl_uw_toggle_submit_func() functions all hooked via nopriv AJAX actions in all versions up to, and including, 1.5.2. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify the plugin's settings.

A missing authorization check means a function is reachable by anyone who can reach the endpoint, because the code never asks whether the caller is allowed to perform the action.

Any user who can reach the endpoint gets to run an action reserved for higher-privileged roles, from reading protected data to changing settings or content. For Restaurant & Cafe Addon for Elementor the fix is 1.5.3: builds <= 1.5.2 are affected, anything from 1.5.3 onward is not.
