Vulnerability Overview

The CP Multi View Event Calendar plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Insufficient Authorization in versions up to, and including, 1.4.13 due to a lack of access control on the 'cp-admin-int.inc.php' page used for plugin settings. This could allow authenticated attackers with editor-level permissions or above, or any attacker exploiting a local file inclusion vulnerability, to modify plugin settings.

CWE-285: Improper Authorization

Reaching this weakness in CP Multi View Events Calendar <= 1.4.13 takes a caller who can reach the endpoint. Improper authorization means a permission check exists but does not cover the case being exercised, so a caller who is allowed to do one thing is allowed to do a neighbouring thing as well.

A lower-privileged account performs an action reserved for a higher one, which on a multi-author or membership site means an ordinary user reaching administrative behaviour. For CP Multi View Events Calendar the fix is 1.4.15: builds <= 1.4.13 are affected, anything from 1.4.15 onward is not.

Update to version 1.4.15, or a newer patched version
