Vulnerability Overview

The All-in-One WP Migration and Backup plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized access due to a missing capability check on a function in all versions up to, and including, 7.105. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to write logs to an arbitrary location.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 7.106, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-22 (Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')) The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory.
