Vulnerability Overview

The All-in-One WP Migration plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion via directory traversal due to insufficient file validation via the ~/lib/model/class-ai1wm-backups.php file, in versions up to, and including, 7.58. This can be exploited by administrative users, and users who have access to the site's secret key.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 7.59, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-22 (Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')) The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory.
