Vulnerability Overview
The Zephyr Project Manager plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass due to a missing capability check and lack of authentication/authorization on its REST endpoints in versions up to, and including, 3.2.42. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to utilize them. Additionally, user input is not properly sanitized leading to Stored Cross-Site Scripting.

Reaching this weakness in Zephyr Project Manager 3.2.4 – 3.2.42 · 3 branches takes a caller who can reach the endpoint. A missing authorization check means a function is reachable by anyone who can reach the endpoint, because the code never asks whether the caller is allowed to perform the action.
Any user who can reach the endpoint gets to run an action reserved for higher-privileged roles, from reading protected data to changing settings or content. For Zephyr Project Manager the fix is 3.2.5: builds 3.2.4 – 3.2.42 · 3 branches are affected, anything from 3.2.5 onward is not.

Update to version 3.2.5, or a newer patched version
