Vulnerability Overview

The WPQA Builder WordPress plugin before 5.7 which is a companion plugin to the Hilmer and Discy , does not check authorization before displaying private messages, allowing any logged in user to read other users private message using the message id, which can easily be brute forced.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 5.7, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-639 (Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key) The system's authorization functionality does not prevent one user from gaining access to another user's data or record by modifying the key value identifying the data.
