Vulnerability Overview

The Comments – wpDiscuz plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to HTML Injection in all versions up to, and including, 7.6.21. This is due to a lack of filtering of HTML tags in comments. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to add HTML such as hyperlinks to comments when rich editing is disabled.

REMEDIATION: Update to version 7.6.22, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')) The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users.
