Vulnerability Overview

Unvalidated input and lack of output encoding in the WP Shieldon WordPress plugin, version 1.6.3 and below, leads to Unauthenticated Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) when the CAPTCHA page is shown could lead to privileged escalation.

REMEDIATION: Update to version 1.6.4, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')) The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users.
