Vulnerability Overview

The WP-Polls plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to IP Validation Bypass in versions up to, and including, 2.75.6. This is due to the plugin prioritizing easier to spoof IP detection mechanisms. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to bypass IP-based limitations to polling.

REMEDIATION: Update to version 2.76.0, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-639 (Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key) The system's authorization functionality does not prevent one user from gaining access to another user's data or record by modifying the key value identifying the data.
