Vulnerability Overview

The WP Meteor Page Speed Optimization Topping plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in versions up to, and including, 3.1.4. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the processAjaxNoticeDismiss function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to dismiss admin notices via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 3.1.5, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-352 (Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)) The web application does not, or cannot, sufficiently verify whether a request was intentionally provided by the user who sent the request, which could have originated from an unauthorized actor.
