Vulnerability Overview
The WP Fastest Cache – WordPress Cache Plugin plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cache Poisoning in versions 0.8.7.7 through 1.5.0. This is due to missing exclusion of requests with query strings from the page cache, allowing cache entries for clean URLs to be overwritten by requests carrying arbitrary query parameters. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to poison the page cache by requesting a URL with tracking query parameters, causing their rendered page context to be stored and served to every subsequent visitor of the clean URL.

Reaching this weakness in WP Fastest Cache 0.8.7.7 – 1.5.0 takes no account at all. Cross-site scripting happens when input from a request is written into a page without being escaped for the context it lands in, so the browser parses attacker-supplied text as markup or script.
Injected script runs with the privileges of whoever views the affected page, which is how these flaws turn into administrator session theft, silent account creation or persistent backdoors in page content. For WP Fastest Cache the fix is 1.5.1: builds 0.8.7.7 – 1.5.0 are affected, anything from 1.5.1 onward is not.

Update to version 1.5.1, or a newer patched version

Requests carrying this pattern arrive without a session, so nothing upstream of the firewall gets a chance to reject them: WordSec's web application firewall inspects request payloads before WordPress loads them. None of that substitutes for the fix: WP Fastest Cache 1.5.1 closes this, and updating the plugin is the step that ends it.
