Vulnerability Overview

The Discussion Board plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Content Injection in versions up to, and including, 2.4.8 via the discussion feature. This vulnerability makes it possible for authenticated attackers, subscribers and higher, to inject new content onto the website, through the manipulation of posts to create new web pages, spam, or phishing.

REMEDIATION: Update to version 2.4.9, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-74 (Improper Neutralization of Special Elements in Output Used by a Downstream Component ('Injection')) The product constructs all or part of a command, data structure, or record using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify how it is parsed or interpreted when it is sent to a downstream component.
