Vulnerability Overview

The UsersWP – Front-end login form, User Registration, User Profile & Members Directory plugin for WordPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to 1.2.3.23 (exclusive). This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the ajax_profile_image_remove function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete user images via a forged request granted they can trick a site user into performing an action such as clicking on a link.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 1.2.3.23, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-352 (Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)) The web application does not, or cannot, sufficiently verify whether a request was intentionally provided by the user who sent the request, which could have originated from an unauthorized actor.
