Vulnerability Overview

The Tutor LMS plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Insecure Direct Object Reference in all versions up to, and including, 3.9.12 due to missing validation on a user controlled key. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to modify quiz attempts.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 3.9.13, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-639 (Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key) The system's authorization functionality does not prevent one user from gaining access to another user's data or record by modifying the key value identifying the data.
