Vulnerability Overview

The Thinkun Remind plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file reading via directory traversal in versions up to, and including, 1.1.3 via the 'exportData.php' file. This can allow unauthenticated attackers to extract sensitive data in system files that may be useful for performing subsequent attacks.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 1.1.4, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-22 (Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')) The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory.
