Vulnerability Overview

Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in classes/ajax.php in the Smarty Pants Plugins SP Project & Document Manager plugin (sp-client-document-manager) 2.4.1 and earlier for WordPress allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the (1) vendor_email[] parameter in the email_vendor function or id parameter in the (2) download_project, (3) download_archive, or (4) remove_cat function.

Reaching this weakness in SP Project & Document Manager < 2.4.4 takes a caller who can reach the endpoint. SQL injection happens when request data is concatenated into a query instead of being bound as a parameter, letting an attacker change the structure of the statement rather than just its values.

A working injection can read any table the database user can see, which on a WordPress install means user records, password hashes and session or API secrets stored in options. For SP Project & Document Manager the fix is 2.4.4: builds < 2.4.4 are affected, anything from 2.4.4 onward is not.

Update to version 2.4.4, or a newer patched version
