Vulnerability Overview

Social Media Widget (social-media-widget) plugin 4.0 for WordPress contains an externally introduced modification (Trojan Horse), which allows remote attackers to force the upload of arbitrary files.

REMEDIATION: Update to version 4.0.1, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-434 (Unrestricted Upload of File with Dangerous Type) The product allows the upload or transfer of dangerous file types that are automatically processed within its environment.
