Vulnerability Overview

The Social Count Plus plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting in versions up to, and including, 5.3.3 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on add_query_arg and remove_query_arg. This makes it possible for attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute in a victim's browser.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 3.0.3, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')) The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users.
