Vulnerability Overview
The Responsive Image Slider, Photo Gallery And Carousel plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary post access due to a missing capability check on the sf_image_id function in versions before 1.3.6. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with subscriber-level privileges or above to arbitrarily access posts, including password protected posts.

Reaching this weakness in Slider, Carousel, and Slideshow by Slider Factory < 1.3.6 takes a caller who can reach the endpoint. A missing authorization check means a function is reachable by anyone who can reach the endpoint, because the code never asks whether the caller is allowed to perform the action.
Any user who can reach the endpoint gets to run an action reserved for higher-privileged roles, from reading protected data to changing settings or content. For Slider, Carousel, and Slideshow by Slider Factory the fix is 1.3.6: builds < 1.3.6 are affected, anything from 1.3.6 onward is not.
