Vulnerability Overview

The Secure Copy Content Protection and Content Locking plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized modification of data due to a missing capability check on the deactivate_sccp_option function in versions up to, and including, 3.9.0. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify an option. It does not appear this was adequately patched in 3.9.1.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 3.9.1, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-862 (Missing Authorization) The product does not perform an authorization check when an actor attempts to access a resource or perform an action.
