Vulnerability Overview

The Ruby Help Desk plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized modification of data due to a missing authorization check on the process_ticket_reply function in versions up to, and including, 1.3.3. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with subscriber-level permissions or above to update arbitrary tickets in the system.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 1.3.4, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-639 (Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key) The system's authorization functionality does not prevent one user from gaining access to another user's data or record by modifying the key value identifying the data.
