Vulnerability Overview
The Auto Ad Inserter – Increase Google Adsense and Ad Manager Revenue plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized access due to a missing capability check on a function in all versions up to, and including, 1.5. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Editor-level access and above, to update the plugin's settings.

Reaching this weakness in Auto Ad Inserter <= 1.5 takes an account at Editor level or above. A missing authorization check means a function is reachable by anyone who can reach the endpoint, because the code never asks whether the caller is allowed to perform the action.
Any user who can reach the endpoint gets to run an action reserved for higher-privileged roles, from reading protected data to changing settings or content. For Auto Ad Inserter the fix is 1.5.1: builds <= 1.5 are affected, anything from 1.5.1 onward is not.

Update to version 1.5.1, or a newer patched version
