Vulnerability Overview
The WordPress Coming Soon Page & Maintenance Mode plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the logo_width, logo_height, rcsp_logo_url, home_sec_link_txt, rcsp_headline and rcsp_description parameters in versions up to, and including, 1.8.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.

Reaching this weakness in Coming Soon Page & Maintenance Mode < 1.8.2 takes a caller who can reach the endpoint. Cross-site scripting happens when input from a request is written into a page without being escaped for the context it lands in, so the browser parses attacker-supplied text as markup or script.
Injected script runs with the privileges of whoever views the affected page, which is how these flaws turn into administrator session theft, silent account creation or persistent backdoors in page content. For Coming Soon Page & Maintenance Mode the fix is 1.8.2: builds < 1.8.2 are affected, anything from 1.8.2 onward is not.

Update to version 1.8.2, or a newer patched version
