Vulnerability Overview

The Rate my Post - WP Rating System plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Insecure Direct Object Reference in versions up to, and including, 3.4.1 due to missing validation on a user controlled key. This can allow users with publishing access to manipulate feedback and ratings.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 3.4.2, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-639 (Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key) The system's authorization functionality does not prevent one user from gaining access to another user's data or record by modifying the key value identifying the data.
