The quiz-master-next (aka Quiz And Survey Master) plugin before 6.3.5 for WordPress is affected by: Cross Site Scripting (XSS). The impact is: Allows an attacker to execute arbitrary HTML and JavaScript code via the from or till parameter (and/or the quiz_id parameter). The component is: admin/quiz-options-page.php. The attack vector is: When the Administrator is logged in, a reflected XSS may execute upon a click on a malicious URL.

Reaching this weakness in Quiz and Survey Master (QSM) <= 6.3.4 takes a caller who can reach the endpoint. Cross-site scripting happens when input from a request is written into a page without being escaped for the context it lands in, so the browser parses attacker-supplied text as markup or script.

Injected script runs with the privileges of whoever views the affected page, which is how these flaws turn into administrator session theft, silent account creation or persistent backdoors in page content. For Quiz and Survey Master (QSM) the fix is 6.3.5: builds <= 6.3.4 are affected, anything from 6.3.5 onward is not.

Update to version 6.3.5, or a newer patched version
