Vulnerability Overview

The Quick Event Manager WordPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting in versions up to, and including, 9.7.4 via the 'category' parameter of the 'qem_ajax_calendar' action due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link.

REMEDIATION: Update to version 9.7.5, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')) The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users.
