Vulnerability Overview

The Popup Box – new WordPress popup plugin plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 2.2.6. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the popup-box page. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete pop-ups via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.

REMEDIATION: Update to version 2.2.7, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-352 (Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)) The web application does not, or cannot, sufficiently verify whether a request was intentionally provided by the user who sent the request, which could have originated from an unauthorized actor.
