The Pie Register plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to SQL Injection via the show_dash_widget’ and ‘invitaion_code’ parameter in versions 2.0.14-2.0.15 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query.
Technical Analysis
REMEDIATION: Update to version 2.0.16, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-89 (Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection')) The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data.
