Vulnerability Overview

The Paid Memberships Pro – Content Restriction, User Registration, & Paid Subscriptions plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Insecure Direct Object Reference in all versions up to, and including, 3.0.4 via the pmpro_twocheckoutValidate function due to missing validation on a user controlled key. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update an order status to paid.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 3.0.5, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-639 (Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key) The system's authorization functionality does not prevent one user from gaining access to another user's data or record by modifying the key value identifying the data.
