At a glance

CVE-2026-67187 is a medium-severity Improper Neutralization of Formula Elements in a CSV File vulnerability in the Ninja Forms WordPress plugin, affecting versions <= 3.15.3. It carries a CVSS score of 5.8 (reachable over the network; low attack complexity). Exploitation requires no authentication. The issue is fixed in version 3.15.4; sites on affected versions should update now. Disclosed October 2026, reported by Choriyev Qahramon.

Vulnerability Overview

The Ninja Forms – Contact Form Builder with Calculators, Quizzes, Signatures & AI Form Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to CSV Injection in all versions up to, and including, 3.15.3. This is due to missing server-side option validation in NF_Abstracts_List, allowing arbitrary values to bypass the option allowlist enforced only on textbox and textarea fields before CSV export. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary formula payloads into list-type fields and, when an administrator exports submissions to CSV and opens the file, execute arbitrary commands via CSV injection. An administrator must download and open the exported submissions CSV file in a spreadsheet application.

Technical Analysis

The vector marks this flaw as remotely reachable over the network, with low attack complexity — no special timing or configuration is needed, and no privileges on the target site, and no interaction from a victim user.

CWE-1236: Improper Neutralization of Formula Elements in a CSV File

The product saves user-provided information into a Comma-Separated Value (CSV) file, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could be interpreted as a command when the file is opened by a spreadsheet product.

Remediation

Update to version 3.15.4, or a newer patched version

How does WordSec protect against this?

Requests carrying this pattern arrive without a session, so nothing upstream of the firewall gets a chance to reject them: WordSec's web application firewall inspects request payloads before WordPress loads them. None of that substitutes for the fix: Ninja Forms 3.15.4 closes this, and updating the plugin is the step that ends it.
