Vulnerability Overview
The Media Slider – Photo Sleder, Video Slider, Link Slider, Carousal Slideshow plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized modification of data due to a missing capability check on the ajax_media_slider and _ms_save_settings functions in versions up to, and including, 1.3.9. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to modify the plugin's settings.

Any user who can reach the endpoint gets to run an action reserved for higher-privileged roles, from reading protected data to changing settings or content. For Media Slider for Photos Images Videos the fix is 1.4.0: builds <= 1.3.9 are affected, anything from 1.4.0 onward is not.
