Vulnerability Overview

The LIQUID SPEECH BALLOON plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in versions up to, and including, 1.1.8 . This is due to missing nonce validation on the liquid_speech_balloon_admin_page() function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify the plugin's settings via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 1.2, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-352 (Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)) The web application does not, or cannot, sufficiently verify whether a request was intentionally provided by the user who sent the request, which could have originated from an unauthorized actor.
