Vulnerability Overview

The KBx Pro Ultimate plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient file path validation in all versions up to, and excluding, 8.0.5. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php).

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 8.0.5, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-73 (External Control of File Name or Path) The product allows user input to control or influence paths or file names that are used in filesystem operations.
