Vulnerability Overview

The Job Manager & Career – Manage job board listings, and recruitments plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Sensitive Information Exposure in all versions up to, and including, 1.4.3 in cases where directory listing is enabled. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to extract sensitive data including uploaded job applications.

Reaching this weakness in Job Manager & Career <= 1.4.3 takes a caller who can reach the endpoint. Sensitive information exposure means data the application intended to keep internal is returned to a caller who should not be able to see it.

The disclosed data — credentials, tokens, customer records or internal paths — is usually worth more as material for a follow-up attack than as an end in itself. For Job Manager & Career the fix is 1.4.4: builds <= 1.4.3 are affected, anything from 1.4.4 onward is not.
