Vulnerability Overview

The FoxyPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Open Redirects in versions up to, and including, 0.4.2.7. This is due to insufficient validation on the redirect url supplied via the 'url' parameter. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to redirect users to potentially malicious sites if they can successfully trick them into performing an action.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 0.4.2.8, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-601 (URL Redirection to Untrusted Site ('Open Redirect')) The web application accepts a user-controlled input that specifies a link to an external site, and uses that link in a redirect.
