Vulnerability Overview

The Floating Action Button plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in versions up to, and including, <=1.2.1. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the 'wp_ajax_fz_fab_settings_save' AJAX action. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify plugin settings via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 1.2.2, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-352 (Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)) The web application does not, or cannot, sufficiently verify whether a request was intentionally provided by the user who sent the request, which could have originated from an unauthorized actor.
