Vulnerability Overview

The RSS Aggregator by Feedzy – Feed to Post, Autoblogging, News & YouTube Video Feeds Aggregator plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized settings update due to a missing capability check when updating settings in all versions up to, and including, 4.3.2. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with author-level access or above to change the plugin's settings including proxy settings, which are also exposed to authors.

CWE-862: Missing Authorization

Reaching this weakness in RSS Aggregator by Feedzy <= 4.3.2 takes a caller who can reach the endpoint. A missing authorization check means a function is reachable by anyone who can reach the endpoint, because the code never asks whether the caller is allowed to perform the action.

Any user who can reach the endpoint gets to run an action reserved for higher-privileged roles, from reading protected data to changing settings or content. For RSS Aggregator by Feedzy the fix is 4.3.3: builds <= 4.3.2 are affected, anything from 4.3.3 onward is not.

Update to version 4.3.3, or a newer patched version
