Vulnerability Overview

The EventPrime plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized modification of data due to improper input validation in the 'save_event_booking' function in versions up to, and including, 3.3.9. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify the price and other attributes of purchased tickets.

The concrete impact depends on where the unvalidated value lands, which is why records in this class range from cosmetic bugs to full compromise. For EventPrime the fix is 3.4.0: builds <= 3.3.9 are affected, anything from 3.4.0 onward is not.

Update to version 3.4.0, or a newer patched version

How does WordSec protect against this?

The attempt arrives as an ordinary request to EventPrime: WordSec's web application firewall inspects request payloads before WordPress loads them. None of that substitutes for the fix: EventPrime 3.4.0 closes this, and updating the plugin is the step that ends it.
