Embed Privacy <= 1.8.0 - Authenticated (Contributor+) Stored Cross-Site Scripting
Strategic Overview
<= 1.8.0CVE-2023-48300Vulnerability Overview
The Embed Privacy plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'embed_privacy_opt_out ' shortcode in all versions up to, and including, 1.8.0 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user supplied attributes. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. CVE-2023-51694 appears to be a duplicate of this vulnerability.
