Vulnerability Overview

The WordPress plugin, Email Subscribers & Newsletters, before 4.2.3 had a flaw that allowed for unauthenticated option creation. In order to exploit this vulnerability, an attacker would need to send a /wp-admin/admin-post.php?es_skip=1&option_name= request.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 4.2.3, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-287 (Improper Authentication) When an actor claims to have a given identity, the product does not prove or insufficiently proves that the claim is correct.
