Vulnerability Overview

The Easy Digital Downloads WordPress plugin before version 2.11.6 does not have Cross-Site Request Forgery checks in place when inserting payment notes. This could allow attackers to make a logged admin insert arbitrary notes via a Cross-Site Request Forgery attack.

Technical Analysis

REMEDIATION: Update to version 2.11.6, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-352 (Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)) The web application does not, or cannot, sufficiently verify whether a request was intentionally provided by the user who sent the request, which could have originated from an unauthorized actor.
