Download Monitor <= 4.4.4 - Admin+ SQL Injection via orderby parameter
Strategic Overview
< 4.4.5CVE-2021-24786Vulnerability Overview
The Download Monitor WordPress plugin before 4.4.5 does not properly validate and escape the "orderby" GET parameter before using it in a SQL statement when viewing the logs, leading to an SQL Injection issue
Technical Analysis
REMEDIATION: Update to version 4.4.5, or a newer patched version --- IDENTIFIER: CWE-89 (Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection')) The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data.
